About Amy

I came to energy medicine looking for a framework to help me navigate journeys I had with ayahuasca, and found a system of perceiving and interacting that has transformed some of my biggest challenges and healed many of my deepest wounds. My goal with this work now is twofold:  to help individuals move beyond their pain into the lives they know they can have; and to create a platform where we can collectively eliminate enough of our baggage to dream into being a world in which humans live with respect for and in harmony with our incredible home.

In doing so, I draw upon my training in energy medicine, as well as my work in corporate social responsibility, environmental activism, gender and sexuality, and art and cultural history.

My work in sustainability is through my Nairobi-based consultancy, Empower Venture Partners, where I provide corporations, entrepreneurs, investors, and NGOs strategy, fundraising, sustainability, and analysis expertise around environmental and social issues.  In the United States I was the Research Director at As You Sow where I wrote numerous publications analyzing industry performance on key issues of corporate responsibility, led successful shareholder engagements, and created organizational and program strategies.

In addition, I founded and was CEO of NTWC, an image-based technology company dedicated to reducing body shaming and sexual violence which was acquired in October 2016; worked in the music business; taught Iyengar, Astanga, and Vinyasa yoga; and was a professor of art history and women’s studies.

I hold an MBA and a PhD in Art History from the University of California, Los Angeles, an MA in Anthropology from Stanford University, and a BA in Philosophy and Art History from Tufts University in addition to certifications in Shamanic Energy Medicine and Advanced Shamanic Training from The Four Winds Light Body School, initiation into the Rites of the Munay Ki and the Rite of the Womb, and certification as a Reiki Master.
